I am born and bred in Pretoria, matriculated at Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool. My passion for computers were the reason to choose a career in technology. I studied BSc Computer Science at the University of Pretoria. My career path with the group started in 1997 as a contractor, evolving to designing systems and managing a team of developers. Payments and banking systems had been in my blood ever since, I am learning something new every day. As part of an innovative team, we aim to develop and support the best systems and integrations solutions that our clients need.

My personal motto is :“The only constant in life is change, you have to adapt or die. I choose to adapt.”

My hobbies include: traveling, horses and photography.

I have 24 years of experience and knowledge in the Information Technology industry of which 20 years are within the Banking and Financial sector.
I have the ability to envision the larger picture of a problem , projects, and business strategy that helps when one needs to make quick and effective dissensions in exceptional critical conditions.

I am a firm believer of "knowledge gives power " and to constantly study and explore new technology - no challenge is too big.

My hobbies include: outdoor adventures & mountain biking.

Annette Steenekamp - Chief Information Officer
I was born and raised in Pretoria, completing my schooling at Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool. My passion for technology and computers led me to pursue a career in this field, earning a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Pretoria.
My journey with the organization began in 1997 as a contractor. Over the years, I transitioned to designing systems and managing a team of developers. Payments and banking systems have been at the core of my work ever since, and I continue to learn and grow in this ever-evolving industry. Together with my innovative team, our goal is to develop and support cutting-edge systems and integration solutions that meet our clients' needs.
The SOFTSPLICE team holds great importance to me, and fostering their growth and development is one of my greatest joys.

Additionally, I possess a robust background in cybersecurity, ensuring that systems are secure, compliant, and resilient against evolving threats.
I possess a strategic mindset that allows me to visualize the broader implications of challenges, projects, and business objectives. This skill is invaluable when navigating high-pressure situations and making swift, data-driven decisions to drive successful outcomes in critical, time-sensitive environments. My ability to balance technical precision, security best practices, and strategic foresight ensures that business goals are met while maintaining operational efficiency, innovation, and robust security measures.​

With 20 years of experience in payment and banking systems, I am passionate about designing and maintaining high-standard, scalable solutions that solve real-world problems. Born in Pretoria, I earned my Engineering: Computer Systems diploma from Technikon Pretoria, fueling my love for software development. For me, coding is more than a job—it’s a craft, a constant learning adventure, and a way to create meaningful impact. I take pride in upholding high standards in development, ensuring every solution is efficient, reliable, and innovative. I thrive on solving complex challenges, driving innovation, and empowering businesses through technology. "Empowering clients through innovation and care.”
